2 Robberies Occur In The Woodlands Within Minutes

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – Residents in The Woodlands were advised to be on alert after two armed robberies happened within minutes of each other.

Montgomery County sheriff's deputies said two contractors for AT&T reported that two men attacked them while they were repairing fiber optic cable inside a box in the area of Grogan's Mill Drive and Sawdust Road about 4:15 a.m. Friday.

The men had bandannas covering their faces and were armed with guns, investigators said.

Detectives said the men stole the contractors' cellphones, keys and wallets and punched one of the victims in the face before fleeing in a midsized silver SUV.

A short time later, a 57-year-old man reported that two men attacked him in the parking lot of the 24 Hour Fitness on Lake Woodlands Parkway, deputies said.

The man said his attackers were armed, dressed in all black clothing and wore ski masks, detectives said.

Investigators said the men took the victim's wallet, cellphone and gym bag before fleeing in an older-model passenger car.
