HOUSTON - Two former Houston police officers who were accused of beating a teenage burglary suspect have made plea deals.
Phillip Bryan and Raad Hassan pleaded no contest to official oppression charges on Wednesday. They were sentenced to two years of deferred adjudication. Hassan was ordered to pay a $750 fine and Bryan was ordered to pay a $500 fine.
Bryan, Hassan, Drew Ryser and Andrew Blomberg were accused of beating 15-year-old Chad Holley in March 2010. Holley was suspected of breaking into a home and was convicted of burglary.
Blomberg was acquitted and Ryser has not gone to trial.
Holley, who is now 18, was recently sentenced to six months in jail in connection with a separate home burglary charge.
