2 men sought for stealing guns from storage facility

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County Sheriff's Office deputies are searching for two men who broke into a self storage facility Wednesday night and got away with almost two dozen rifles, pistols and shotguns, including at least one assault rifle.

Security video shows the men strolling through a climate-controlled building at around 8:30 p.m. at Barker Cypress Self Storage, in the 17600 block of West Little York Road. One of the men was wearing a hoodie; the other had on a Houston Rockets cap and a soccer jersey with the word "Qatar" written across the front.

They got onto the property by cutting through a chain-link fence. Once inside they walked into one of the buildings and broke the locks off five storage rooms. The guns were stored in one of them, and included antiques, a Bushmaster M4 assault rifle, a Benelli shotgun, semi-automatic pistols, revolvers and ammunition.

The suspects spent about an hour inside the building before carrying the guns out of the building's back door. The video shows that there were other customers on the lot while the burglars were there.

The guns' owner and the storage lot manager declined to comment.

Anyone with information  is asked to call Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS, which offers a reward of up to $5,000 for information.
