HOUSTON -

Deputies are searching for the men who robbed a bank inside a northwest Harris County Walmart on Wednesday morning.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said the Woodforest Bank inside the Walmart on Tomball Parkway near West Road was robbed about 10 a.m.

Two robbers armed with guns got away with an undisclosed amount of cash, investigators said.

Detailed descriptions of the robbers have not been released. Officials said they were dressed in dark-colored clothing and were wearing sunglasses and baseball caps.

The men got away in an older-model, two-door, purple-colored compact car with a black trunk, deputies said.

The store remained open while the robbery was investigated.

Shopper Carmen Alvarenga and her 1-year-old daughter arrived at the store after the robbery. She walked in, saw the crime scene tape and walked back out.

"I'm not going to buy anything," she said. "Just going to go home."

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
