2 men killed in shootout at northwest Houston Sonic Drive-In

Police searching for 2 other men allegedly involved

HOUSTON – Two men were killed during a shootout at a Sonic Drive-In in northwest Houston.

According to police, witnesses reported hearing 10 to 20 gunshots around 9:45 p.m. Tuesday at the restaurant in the 1500 block of Wirt Road. Police said two men had a heated argument after one pulled his car in front of the other. Then the men started shooting at each other. 

One man died in his car after being shot, police said.

Investigators said Abraham Grimaldo, 21, suffered multiple gunshot wounds.The driver of the other vehicle and third person drove Grimaldo to Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital, where he later died.

The two men left the hospital before police arrived.

Investigators are searching for them. Both described as being Hispanic, police said one man is 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighs about 200 pounds, while the other is 6 feet tall and weighs about 170 pounds.

The investigation is ongoing.
