DALLAS - Two men have been arrested following the stabbing death of a Missouri City man outside of a Dallas nightclub.
Dallas police said Terrell Cowherd, 26, was trying to break up a fight early Saturday morning at 2000 Greenvilla Avenue when a man pulled out a knife and stabbed him repeatedly. Another man is accused of holding Cowherd from behind during the attack.
The victim's family members said Cowherd was a graduate of Elkins High School and Prairie View A & M, where he received an engineering degree. They said he had been living in Dallas for less than a year after first beginning his career in Arkansas.
Cowherd's grandmother, Delois Turner, said he had a promising career in front of him and pursued a career in engineering following a path carved out by his mother.
Now, his young cousin, Aliyah Arzu, plans to get an engineering degree to honor him.
"He was doing so well. He was a role model. So to hear that someone murdered him? It hurts," said Arzu.
Dallas police arrested Jerry Brown, Jr. near the scene of the stabbing Saturday.
According to police, a second suspect, Juliane Terrance Martin, Jr., surrendered to authorities Sunday afternoon.
Both men are facing murder charges.
