HARRIS COUNTY -- Two men wanted in connection with an aggravated robbery and deputy-involved shooting in east Harris County have been arrested.
Jeffrey Britten, 20, and Javon Price, 19, are charged with aggravated robbery, evading arrest and aggravated assault on a peace officer.
A third suspect remains on the loose.
According to deputies, the suspects tried to rob a Texaco gas station in the 15600 block of the East Freeway around 12:15 a.m. Wednesday. However, the store manager locked the doors as the trio tried to enter. That’s when the men took off in a black Saturn.
About an hour later the men robbed an Exxon gas station at gunpoint in the 200 block of Dell Dale and the East Freeway. Officials say they stole $130.
While searching the area, deputies saw the suspects' car at a Valero gas station on Dell Dale and Wallisville Road.
Deputies told the men out of the vehicle, but they drove off. Their car's driver-side door hit Deputy S. Herrmann in the arm.
Deputies began chasing the suspects until they crashed their vehicle in the Sonoma Ranch subdivision at Fallow Lane. The suspects ran from the car, as they were chased by deputies.
Britten and Price were arrested after being found in the backyards of homes.
However, the third man climbed a fence to jump onto a home's roof. While on the roof, he pointed a weapon at Deputy Hermann. Hermann fired his gun at the man, but he was not hit.
Officials said the man ran away.
Anyone with information about the third man's identity is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
The sheriff's office said Hermann is a 14-year veteran with the department.
