HOUSTON -

Two children were injured Halloween night while they were trick-or-treating in North Houston. They were hit by an SUV, according to police.

The accident happened on Saddle Rock near Sweetwater when a boy and a girl were attempting to cross the street.

"My husband was driving the black truck, the accident happened in the middle of the street. He stopped and grabbed the little girl and brought her over here and I called the ambulance, I called 911," said a woman who witnessed the accident.

Both children were taken to the hospital. According to witnesses, the little boy may have at least one broken bone. Witnesses said the little girl had scratches. Their names were not released.

It's not clear whether the driver will face charges. Her vehicle was towed away.

The speed limit on the road is 30 mph and there are no street lights in that area, witnesses said.
