KATY, Texas -

Two students on bikes were hit by a car near a high school in Katy, according to Harris County deputies.

The accident happened on Raintree Village and Morton Road near Morton Ranch High School. The West I-10 Volunteer Fire Department says a 12-year-old and a 13-year-old were hit by a vehicle and transported to the hospital.

We're told one of the juveniles hit the windshield, while the other was just grazed by the vehicle.

Both victims appeared conscious and alert, fire officials say, but there is no word on the victims' conditions.

Katy ISD says the two juveniles were riding their bicycles home from school when they were hit. One was a Morton Ranch High School student and one was a Morton Ranch Junior High student.

It's unclear if the driver stayed at the scene.

We have a crew headed to the scene and will bring you more information when it comes into the newsroom.
