HOUSTON -

Two men were injured after a pickup truck slammed into a traffic light in northwest Houston.

The accident happened around 3 a.m. on Sunday, when a pickup headed outbound on the Highway 290 feeder road attempted to turn right onto Bingle Road.

According to reports, the truck was going too fast on a wet road, and the truck slid into the traffic light pole.  The force of the crash caused the pole to nearly come out of the ground.

The two men in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries.

Police said the driver was not intoxicated at the time of the crash.
