HOUSTON -

Two firefighters were hurt while battling an apartment fire in southwest Houston early Monday.

Houston firefighters said the blaze broke out in the laundry room of an apartment complex in the 9100 block of Burdine near North Braeswood about 4 a.m.

Two firefighters suffered first- and second-degree burns on their feet, officials said. They were taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital and are expected to be OK.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
