2 dogs attack man standing outside neighbor's home

HOUSTON – Two stray dogs bit a resident in Katy on Tuesday.

Witnesses said two pit bulls were in the 17200 block of Forest Ridge Point at 6:40 a.m. and attacked a man in his 70s who was standing outside a neighbor's house. The neighbor heard a commotion and helped fight off the dogs.

The victim was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital West in Katy. His condition was not released, but described as "non-life-threatening."

Witnesses said both men were bitten on their hands.

A deputy shot and killed one of the dogs. The other dog ran off and animal control officers are searching for it.

Officials said the dogs were not owned by anyone in the neighborhood.
