Homicide investigators are searching for the person responsible for killing two people and injuring one after a shooting on the patio of Las Palmas Sports Bar Sunday morning.
Houston police identified one of the victims that died as Elias Albear-Ramirez, but have yet to identify the second victim.
"Killed my cousin, my heart now is no good," said the first victim's cousin, Ramiro Albear. "Somebody killed my cousin, he was at Palmas and I come here to see what happened."
Police said at approximately 6 a.m. Sunday, Albear-Ramirez and his friend known as El Cholo were playing poker with two other men at the bar on Ponderosa Lane at Consuela Drive.
Police said during the game, one of the men, the suspect, started arguing with Ramirez. When Ramirez's friend tried to intervene, the man pulled out a gun and shot them.
"For no apparent reason, he just started shooting," said Sgt. Richard Rodriguez with the Houston Police Department. "He shot the individual who was playing cards and the individual who was trying to intervene as well."
Ramirez and his friend were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the third victim, a 60-year-old man, was taken to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where he was treated and released.
Detectives said the shooter ran out of the bar and took off with three other men. He's described as only as a 20-25 year old Hispanic man who is 5 feet 8 inches tall, a thin build and short black hair. He was last seen wearing a dark shirt, blue jean shorts and red Puma tennis shoes.
