HOUSTON -

Homicide detectives are looking for the guns that were used in a shooting at a nightclub just off Washington Avenue.

Police said shots rang out as NOx was closing around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, as people spilled out into the parking lot on Nett Street.

Houston police said there was security at the club and he called for help.

"There was an off-duty officer who put out the call," said Peg Jewel with the Houston Police Department.

Police said two men were leaving the club when they began arguing. During the argument, 25-year-old Patrick Prince pulled out a gun and shot 30-year-old Brian Washington several times.

Officials said Washington also had a gun and shot Prince at least once.

Police said Washington died at the scene. Prince was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital where he later died.

Another person was injured.

"Two groups of men had a dispute," said Jewel. "Two men are dead. A third had a slight wound and we are detaining him at homicide."

Houston police said both guns were taken from the scene by an unknown person.

Anyone with information about where the guns are located should call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600.
