2 crooks pry open store doors to steal cigarettes

Store owner thinks the same crooks may have struck months ago

HOUSTON – Harris County Sheriff's deputies are searching for the two men accused of breaking into a convenience store to steal cigarettes.

This happened around 4 a.m. Thursday morning at the Super K on Clay near Blalock in northwest Houston.

While inside the store, the men started swiping cigarettes and dumping them into a garbage bag.

"One of them comes in and the other follows, and they take the trash can and put it on the counter and start pulling cigarettes," said store owner Mike Gorbet.

The store owner said this isn't the first time crooks have hit his store; now, he's left cleaning up the mess.

Gorbet believes the same men are responsible for stealing thousands of dollars worth of cigarettes months ago.

"I'm very frustrated, mad angry; we can't seem to catch these people," said  Gorbet.

The owner told Local 2 it will cost him thousands of dollars to repair the damage the two men caused.

If you recognize either of these men or saw anything suspicious in the area, you are asked to call Houston police at 713-884-3131.
