HOUSTON -

Two couches on a southeast Houston freeway caused two wrecks Tuesday.

Investigators said the couches were in the middle, outbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway at South Wayside Drive at 12 a.m.

A car clipped one of them and the driver pulled over. The driver then walked on the freeway to see what he hit, officials said. That's when a second driver, trying to avoid the man and the couches, hit the first driver's parked car, according to police.

Officials said the driver of the first vehicle will be ticketed.

The second driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
