2 children, two adults hurt in wreck

SUGAR LAND, Texas – Four people were hurt, including two children, after a violent collision in Sugar Land.

The wreck happened around 1 a.m. Friday on Highway 59 at the Grand Parkway. The wreck shut down the intersection as investigators collected evidence and worked to figure out exactly what happened. The intersection has since been reopened.

Investigators said the collision between a truck and a Toyota Prius happened after one of the drivers ran a red light.

Paramedics rushed the two adults in the Prius to Memorial Hermann Hospital with broken legs. The two children inside the Prius suffered minor injuries. Officials said the driver of the truck was not hurt.
