According to police, Nelson, Farthing and an unknown occupant drove by the vigil in a white truck and threw a beer bottle, striking one person in the foot.

The person was treated at the scene and released, but witnesses were able to follow the vehicle and give police a description and direction of travel of the truck.

Officers pulled the vehicle over and arrested Nelson for not wearing his seatbelt, and Farthing for possession of marijuana (under 2 ounces). Police said a third occupant was dropped off before the traffic stop and investigators are working to determine the identity of that person and who actually threw the bottle.
