A man and woman were arrested after allegedly trying to use counterfeit money on a local toll road.

According to Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office, Lester Colbert and Lashaum Dixon tried to pass a fake $20 bill to a tollway clerk on December 27. The clerk spotted the bill and notified authorities.

Deputy constables found the suspects about an hour and a half later. When they stopped the car, authorities said they found $2,000 worth of counterfeit $20 bills.

Colbert and Dixon were both charged with forgery of a government financial instrument.
