2 alleged car burglary suspects arrested at Memorial High School

HOUSTON – Two people have been arrested at Memorial High School near the softball field.

School officials tell us the two suspects were seen breaking into cars in the shopping center on Bunker Hill Road and I-10, right across from the school. Houston police chased them into a back parking lot, right near the softball field, where we're told they surrendered.

The principal released a statement to Local 2, saying, "No students were involved or in danger at the time of the arrest. Spring Branch ISD police were on site and assisted HPD with the arrest of the two suspects."

Some students found out about the incident during the last period of school.

"It's pretty scary because they could have had weapons," said sophomore Joey Gold.

The school sent out an email to parents notifying them about what happened.
