Man robbed while trying to sell an iPad to buyers he met online

HOUSTONA popular social media site is under scrutiny after a Houston man was shot and another was robbed at gunpoint when they met up with strangers to sell items they advertised through Facebook.

The first incident happened on June 21 in the parking lot of Albright Middle School in Alief.

The victim said he advertised a pair of Michael Jordan shoes to sell through the Facebook app called "Sole Society."

He arranged to meet with two men who claimed they wanted to buy the shoes.

After haggling about the price of the shoes, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shot the man four times, said police.

Both suspects took off running with the shoes and the victim survived the shooting. 

Four days later, the same suspects are believed to have robbed another man at gunpoint.

The victim said he advertised an iPad for sale on Sole Society.

He met with two men in the parking lot of an elementary school in Alief.

After showing the men the iPad, one of them pulled out a gun and he and his accomplice took off running, said police.

Houston police, working with the Alief Independent School District Police Department, identified the suspects as Devontta Dorsey and Darrell Broussard.

Both Broussard and Dorsey are charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.
