Katy Man Loses Leno Domain Name

HOUSTON -- A Katy man lost a fight with NBC talk show host Jay Leno over a Web site name, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.

Guadalupe Zambrano owned the domain name of www.thejaylenoshow.com. He registered the address five years ago while Leno was still hosting The Tonight Show.

Zambrano used the site to redirect Web surfers to his Houston real estate business.

The United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization ruled that Zambrano failed to demonstrate that he had a legitimate reason for owning the Web site address.

He will have to transfer the domain name to Leno.

The Jay Leno Show premieres Sept. 14 at 9 p.m. on KPRC Local 2. It will air Monday through Friday.
