FBI: Man Snatched Cash From Teller's Hand

POSTED: Tuesday, June 23, 2009
UPDATED: 11:03 am CDT June 23, 2009

A man had to go to three tellers before he was able to successfully rob a bank on Monday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

FBI officials said the man robbed the Chase Bank in the 7800 block of Long Point Road at about 11:30 a.m.

Investigators said the man approached a teller, showed a pistol in his waistband and demanded cash. The teller told the man that there was no money in the drawer.

The man went to another teller, who also told him there was no money in the drawer, officials said.

Detectives said the man spotted a teller in the midst of a transaction and snatched the cash out of the teller's hand.

The man fled the bank on foot, officials said.

The man was described as black, 28 to 30 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 9 inches tall, 150 to 180 pounds with a dark complexion and mustache. He was last seen wearing a short-sleeved khaki button-down shirt and carrying a black semiautomatic weapon.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
