FRIENDSWOOD, Texas -- Two children said they were nearly kidnapped in west Friendswood on Monday, police told KPRC Local 2.
Friendswood police said the attempt happened as the children were walking near the intersection of Love Lane and Championship Drive in the Windsor Estates subdivision at about 8 p.m.
The children told investigators that a female passenger of a van rolled down the window and tried to lure them into the van.
The children, whose ages were not released, ran home and told their parents what happened, investigators said.
Police said the children described the van as a newer-model, navy van with tinted windows and a white bumper sticker with blue lettering on the back bumper. The last two digits of the license plate are 6 and 1. They did not know the make or model, officials said.
Another resident in the subdivision reported seeing a similar van at about the same time, police said.
The children described the woman as white, 20 to 30 years old with straight, shoulder-length brown hair and a fair complexion. She was last seen wearing a long-sleeved red T-shirt, a thick necklace over the shirt and blue jeans.
The driver of the van was described as a white man, 20 to 30 years old with medium-length brown hair and a fair complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark green short-sleeved shirt, black-framed sunglasses with red emblems and a wristwatch.
Anyone with information is asked to call Friendswood police at 281-996-3300.
