A man accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 12-year-old was extradited to Houston after nearly three years on the run, KPRC Local 2 reported Tuesday.

U.S. marshals arrived with David Romo, 49, at the inmate processing center in downtown Houston.

Investigators said Romo fled to Mexico when a warrant was issued for his arrest in November 2006.

He was captured in Jalisco, Mexico, and just cleared for extradition.

Romo is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14.

A trial date has not been sent.

Investigators said there may be more victims and ask anyone with information to come forward.
