UPDATED: 5:12 pm CDT May 8, 2009

A teenager told deputy constables that she was nearly abducted in the Humble area on Thursday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Harris County Precinct 4 deputy constables said the 15-year-old girl reported that a man approached her near Sackville Close and Twigsworth Lane in the Atascocita Trails subdivision at about 7 a.m.

Investigators said the girl told the man "no" when he asked her if she needed a ride. The man continued to follow her at a slow pace, the girl told officials.

The girl said she turned around and hid between two houses while the man got out of his car and looked in her direction before leaving the area, detectives said.

The man was described as white, 50 to 55 years old with gray, balding hair. He wore wire-framed glasses and drove an older-model, four-door black Nissan.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office at 281-376-1196 or 281-446-1196.
