UPDATED: 6:24 pm CDT May 7, 2009

A woman with a newborn was attacked in the parking garage of a hospital in the Texas Medical Center and driven around town, officials told KPRC Local 2 Thursday.

Houston police said two men attacked the woman at Ben Taub Hospital at about noon on April 1.

Investigators said the woman was putting her 2-week-old baby in her Ford Explorer when a man grabbed her by the back of the neck and forced her into the back seat. A second man got into the back seat from the passenger's side, officials said.

The first attacker demanded the woman's keys, automatic teller machine card and her personal identification number, police said.

The woman was forced to lie down in the back seat and her eyes were covered, investigators said.

Police said the men drove the woman to several ATMs and took money out of her account.

The woman and the baby were dropped off near the intersection of Antoine Drive and West Gulf Bank Road in northwest Houston, officials said.

Her vehicle was later found in the 7900 block of Bellfort Street, 22 miles away from where she and the baby were left, police said.

Images of one of the men were captured on a surveillance camera at on the the ATMs. He was described as black, 20 to 30 years old, 5 feet 4 inches to 5 feet 6 inches tall with black hair.

The second man was described as black, in his late teens to early 20s and 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was last seen wearing an orange hooded sweatshirt.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
