A hospital employee has been accused of stealing patients' identities, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Acting U.S. Attorney Tim Johnson said 29-year-old Nakeshia Brown used her position as a patient care assistant at Memorial Hermann Hospital to steal personal information and then used it to apply for credit cards.

Brown has been accused of applying for a credit card on March 15 with the personal information of a patient who died on Feb. 26.

Brown has been charged with one count of bank fraud and one count of identity theft.
