HOUSTON -

A 19-year-old man was found shot to death in a car in a southwest Houston parking lot.

Around 9 p.m. Friday, police officers responded to a shooting and found a dead teenager in the parking lot of a shopping center on Gessner Road near Westbrae Parkway.

According to detectives, the victim went to the parking lot in another car to meet up with people.  Then, police said he decided to rob them.  He pulled out a gun and held them up, but one of the others also had a gun.

Police said that suspect shot the 19-year-old once and fled the scene with the rest of the group.  However, several people returned to the crime scene, including the shooter.

It's not clear if any charges were filed.

The names of the victim and the suspects were not released.
