Investigators released a surveillance picture of a man believed to have kidnapped a woman at gunpoint outside a shopping center near Pearland, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.

Brazoria County sheriff's deputies said a co-worker saw a man wearing a ski mask force Susana De Jesus into her own car after she left her job at Catherine's Plus Sizes clothing boutique on Smith Ranch Road near F.M. 518 at about 9:15 p.m. Monday.

De Jesus and the armed man left in her car while a second man in another vehicle, possibly an accomplice, quickly followed them, deputies said.

De Jesus' vehicle, a 2008 black Cadillac, was later found at an apartment complex in the 6000 block of Airport Boulevard in southwest Houston, investigators said.

A surveillance camera at an ATM machine in the 3600 block of Old Spanish Trail snapped a picture of the abductor through a partially open door shortly after the abduction, deputies said.

Investigators said the man withdrew money from De Jesus' bank account.

"What we're trying to do is get with other agencies to see if we can match up any of this other information to see if it goes back to any of their cases and possibly pick up a lead," said Capt. Chris Kincheloe of the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office.

Detectives said they believe a stranger abducted De Jesus, but they don't know why.

De Jesus' sister passed out pictures on Wednesday of her missing sibling.

"I love her. Everybody wants her back home. That's all I want. That's the reason I'm here. I just want her home. I don't care what it takes -- just bring her home," said Guilly Puente, the victim's sister.

Women who shop and work in the area said they are concerned about their safety.

"It's very unusual because we have felt safe for years out in Silverlake," shopper Carolyn Williams said. "All of a sudden, things are happening. Considering what's been going on lately, I'm a little bit worried about being by myself. I probably should take somebody with me shopping from now on."

De Jesus is Hispanic, 5 feet 2 inches tall, 145-150 pounds with brown hair.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Brazoria County Sheriff's Office at 281-331-9000.
