Boyfriend Accused Of Woman's Murder

HOUSTON -- A man was accused of killing his girlfriend and leaving her body in a car at a southwest Houston apartment, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.

Investigators said Jessica Garcia, 33, was strangled either late Monday night or early Tuesday.

Her body was found in her vehicle in the parking lot at the Cambridge Court Apartments in the 6500 block of South Gessner Drive near Bellaire Boulevard at about 2 p.m. Tuesday.

Her boyfriend, Johnathan Ray Barnes, 23, was identified as a suspect in the case. He was arrested on Wednesday without incident, police said.

A murder charge is pending.
