HOUSTON -- People camped out and stood in line for hours to take home pies from a popular northwest Houston pie shop, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Some customers began lining up as early as 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the
Flying Saucer Pie Company, 436 W. Crosstimbers St. The store opened at 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Many came prepared to camp out with blankets and chairs.
"This is what we do every year. I love coming over here for the pies and to see the people, the same people. It's just like a family being here together," customer Alma Martinez said.
The Flying Saucer Pie Company made approximately 5,000 pies to sell on Wednesday.
The store has been in business since 1967.
