POSTED: Thursday, November 20, 2008
HOUSTON -- Guests of a southwest Houston motel suddenly had to find a new place to stay Wednesday after the motel they were staying in caught fire, KPRC Local 2 reported.
The fire started at the Symphony Inn and Suites on the Southwest Freeway near West Airport Boulevard at about 8 p.m.
Sixteen rooms were rented out.
"The alarm went off and we told everyone to leave," employee Bunsi Amin said. "We started knocking on doors and we told everyone, and everyone came outside."
No injuries were reported.
Two rooms were damaged. The motel had to close because the power was shut off.
Firefighters said the fire may have started in a neon sign.
