HOUSTON – The Katy Freeway was shut down for hours overnight when crews had to clean up loads of beer a truck spilled.
Investigators say around midnight on Tuesday a sedan and an 18-wheeler collided in the westbound lanes of the Katy Freeway at Wirt Road.
Police say the impact caused both drivers to spin out of control.
The 18-wheeler ended up flipping over, spilling dozens of cases of beer all over the main lanes, according to authorities.
The Houston Police Department says the driver of the 18-wheeler was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
HPD is still investigating to determine who was at fault.
