KERRVILLE, Texas – A Pasadena police officer was killed and another critically injured after being struck by an 18-wheeler near Kerrville.
According to reports, two police officers stopped around 10 p.m. Friday to assist a stranded motorist on I-10. Authorities said the driver of a semi truck swerved to avoid the area, went onto the shoulder, and hit the two officers.

One of those officers, 49-year-old Larry Candaleri, died at the scene. Officer Michael Huffman, 49, was flown to a San Antonio hospital in critical condition.
The accident is under investigation.
