POSTED: Thursday, November 13, 2008
HOUSTON -- A search of a Houston high school landed an employee and a student in trouble, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.
Houston Independent School District officials said a tip prompted the search. A drug dog hit on marijuana in the employee parking lot, officials said.
An employee, whose name was not released, was suspended with pay pending the outcome of an investigation. The employee has also been reassigned away from the school.
The search also turned up an unloaded gun in a student's backpack, officials said.
The student was arrested and faces expulsion, officials said.
This is the third time drugs have allegedly been found in an HISD employee's possession in the past two weeks. Drugs were also allegedly found in cars at Whittier Elementary School and Wheatley High School.
