HOUSTON -- Police hope a surveillance video will land two men suspected of killing a pawnshop employee behind bars, KPRC Local 2 reported Thursday.
Nothing can bring 38-year-old Irenena Ashford back to life.
"I can't see her, I can't touch her, I can't tell her how much I love her," said the victim's sister, Tabatha Hubbard.
Now her family hopes finding two men caught in the surveillance footage will bring her justice.
"I'm going to say right now I forgive them for what they did to my sister. I forgive them," said Hubbard.
Houston police said they believe the pair may be the men who robbed the EZ Loan along Interstate 45 North Saturday and killed Ashford as she worked inside.
Police said a maroon Chevy truck was used in the fatal robbery, and they said surveillance video shows the same truck being used in another robbery in a parking lot a week earlier. Two men apparently stole a woman's purse, forcefully.
Five days after her sister was shot and killed, Hubbard wonders what these men could do next.
"Who's to say they wouldn't go out and get something else?" she said. "Then somebody else could be hurt."
There is a security guard working now outside the strip mall where Ashford was killed and flowers outside the door serve as a tribute to her.
Her family said one precious life taken is enough.
"I'm praying it's going to stop right here," said Hubbard.
