3-Alarm Apartment Fire Erupts Near Galleria

HOUSTON -- A three-alarm fire broke out at a Galleria-area apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, KPRC Local 2 reported.Firefighters were sent to the Yorktown Apartments, 2530 Yorktown near Westheimer Road, at about 4:30 p.m.Heavy smoke could be seen from the roof of the building.Fire officials said the blaze began on the third floor and traveled through the walls.A second and third alarm were pulled for more manpower.One firefighter was injured after a fall. He was treated at an area hospital. His condition was not released.There's no word yet on a possible cause of the fire.
