A three-alarm fire broke out at a Galleria-area apartment complex Tuesday afternoon, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Firefighters were sent to the Yorktown Apartments, 2530 Yorktown near Westheimer Road, at about 4:30 p.m.

Heavy smoke could be seen from the roof of the building.

Fire officials said the blaze began on the third floor and traveled through the walls.

A second and third alarm were pulled for more manpower.

One firefighter was injured after a fall. He was treated at an area hospital. His condition was not released.

There's no word yet on a possible cause of the fire.
