POSTED: Friday, October 24, 2008

A man is wanted in a home invasion robbery at an apartment complex, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said the man kicked in the door of a woman's apartment at about 3 p.m. on July 20. The woman was inside the apartment with her granddaughter.

The man used a piece of wood from the splintered to threaten the woman, officials said. He demanded the woman's purse, police said.

Detectives said the woman gave the man her purse and he ran away.

One of the woman's stolen credit cards was later used at a Conoco gas station in the 9800 block of South Kirkwood Road.

The man is black, 30 to 35 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall, 170 pounds with black hair.

A $5,000 reward was offered for information leading to the man's arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
