Man Arrested In 90-Minute Attempted Bank Robbery Spree

POSTED: Thursday, October 9, 2008

A man who tried to rob three east Harris County banks in a 90-minute span has been arrested, investigators told KPRC Local 2.

Harris County sheriff's deputies said Kerry Jovan Smith, 23, targeted the Woodforest National Bank in the 5600 block of East Sam Houston Parkway North, the JP Morgan Chase Bank in the 15000 block of Wallisville Road and the Washington Mutual Bank in the 13000 block of Woodforest Drive on Tuesday.

He was only successful in robbing the Washington Mutual, detectives said.

Smith was arrested in Pasadena on Wednesday after he tried to rob a fourth bank, investigators said.
