Carjacking, Chase End In Condo Crash

POSTED: Wednesday, August 20, 2008

A short police chase ended with the carjacking suspects' car crashing into a southwest Houston condominium complex, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.

Investigators said two males and two females carjacked the owner of a Toyota Camry at gunpoint Wednesday at about 1 a.m.

Then, police set up a few cars as bait in an undercover operation and the suspects took it, officials said.

When the suspects realized it was a police sting, some took off on foot while others jumped back into the Camry, and then crashed at the Lakeside Green condos on Waldemar at Kirkwood Wednesday afternoon, investigators said.

The condo was vacant and no one was injured.

All four carjacking suspects were apprehended. Police said they are suspected in several carjackings.
