Man Killed, Children Terrorized In Home Invasion

POSTED: Monday, August 18, 2008

A man was killed during a home invasion in southwest Houston late Saturday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said three men forced their way into Ernest Harper's apartment in the 12600 block of Dunlap Street at about 11 p.m.

The men opened fire on Harper and a woman and three children who were also inside the apartment.

Police said Harper tried to hide under a bed, but the attackers found him and shot him to death.

The attackers asked the children where the money was hidden and ransacked the apartment before they fled.

The children were not injured.

Detectives have not released a detailed description of the attackers.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
