17-year-old charged with murder, aggravated robbery after deadly drug deal

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas – A 17-year-old is facing aggravated robbery and murder charges after police say he was involved in a fatal shooting during a drug deal Jan. 15 in the 25000 block of Lantern Lane in New Caney.

Detectives said Nicholas Valverde met with Jessie Collins, 19, and Joshua Raymond Foland, 20, to purchase narcotics from Collins.

Detectives believe that during the drug deal, Foland was shot to death.

Valverde was arrested Jan. 19.
