HOUSTON -- A man was fatally shot outside a southeast Houston strip club on Sunday, KPRC Local 2 reported.
Houston police said 38-year-old Jose Regelio Alanis was asked to leave Sugar's Gentlemen's Club in the 15300 block of the Gulf Freeway at about 9:15 p.m.
Investigators said someone in the parking lot spotted Alanis puncturing tires and told Travis Bohannon, a club employee.
Bohannon and another employee went into the parking lot to detain Alanis, officials said. Police said Alanis raised a knife in Bohannon's direction and moved toward him.
Detectives said Bohannon, who has a concealed handgun license, pulled out a pistol and shot Alanis.
Alanis was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where he died.
