POSTED: Sunday, July 20, 2008

A Houston police patrol car was totaled in a collision with an 18-wheeler late Saturday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

The collision happened on the feeder road of the South Loop near Kirby Drive at about 11:30 p.m.

Investigators said a car in front of the officer hit a curb and the officer swerved and was hit by the big rig.

The patrol car spun out and hit a guardrail.

The officer was not injured.
