A Katy schoolteacher is accused of having sex with a student, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.

Virginia Isabel Cammack, 35, was charged with having an improper relationship with a 17-year-old Morton Ranch High School student.

Police said the incident occurred around Valentine's Day.

The relationship came to light when someone observed Cammack embracing the student outside Cammack's apartment, investigators said.

According to court documents, the student went to Cammack's apartment to download music from her computer, but the teenager admitted to police that they had sex.

Cammack is a math and geometry teacher.

She resigned from her teaching position.

Cammack was released on a $20,000 bond.
