2 Wanted In River Oaks Kidnapping

POSTED: Wednesday, June 25, 2008
UPDATED: 6:06 pm CDT June 25, 2008

Two men are wanted in connection with the kidnapping of a woman in River Oaks, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.

Houston police said the woman was kidnapped as she took her morning walk in the 3800 block of Del Monte Street at about 7 a.m. on Feb. 28.

"It's changed my whole life," the victim, who did not want to be identified, said the day after the attack.

Investigators said two men forced the woman into the trunk of a gray late-model sedan.

"They hit me over the head with a large black baton," she said. "It's terrifying. All I was thinking was, 'I have to get out or I'm not going to live.'"

The woman was able to unlatch the emergency trunk release and jumped out of the trunk, police said. She suffered a head injury and bruises all over her body.

Witnesses heard the car screech to a stop and saw the men run after the woman, officials said. The men stopped chasing the woman when they saw the witnesses, police said.

Detectives said they identified 29-year-old Luis Salcido, of Magnolia, Texas, and 45-year-old Adam Troy Herrera, of Waxahachie, Texas, as two of the men involved in the attack. Police said there were likely others involved.

Salcido and Herrera are believed to be in Texas, possibly in the Laredo area. They are also wanted on parole violations, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Houston Police Department Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $10,000.
