HOUSTON -- The reward for information about a fuel truck driver's killing has been increased, KPRC Local 2 reported Tuesday.
Jorge Hernandez was shot to death at a Mobil gas station in the 9000 block of the North Freeway at about 10:40 p.m. June 8.
Houston police said a man tried to rob Hernandez. The two got into a fight and the man shot Hernandez several times, investigators said.
Hernandez's girlfriend and another man tried to save his life, but he died at the scene.
The shooter got into a dark-colored, four-door 1996 to 1998 Cadillac that was being driven by another man, officials said.
Investigators said the shooter is black, 18 to 20 years old, about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build and dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a dark-colored sweat suit with matching stripes down the pants legs and jacket sleeves and a dark-colored Houston Astros cap with a light blue star.
Petroleum Wholesale, Hernandez's employer, added $10,000 to the $5,000 reward that Crime Stoppers had offered. The total reward for information is $15,000.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
