Copper Thieves Cut Phone Lines

HOUSTON -- Copper thieves are no longer just after air-conditioning units. They are also targeting phone lines, KPRC Local 2 reported Wednesday.Officials said a northwest Houston neighborhood has been hit hard.Thousands of AT&T customers lost phone service after copper thieves cut the telephone line in the middle of the night.The line in Acres Homes has been stolen five times over the past year.AT&T is working with the Houston Police Department and offering a $3,000 reward.Anyone with information is asked to call 800-807-4205.
