Man Fatally Shot Outside Shopping Center

A man was shot to death in the parking lot of a southwest Houston shopping center early Thursday, KPRC Local 2 reported.

Houston police said the 24-year-old was killed In the 5800 block of South Gessner Drive near Harwin Drive at about 4 a.m.

The man was confronted near the back of his car, officials said.

Police said the gunman spoke with the man before he opened fire.

The man, whose name was not released, died at Ben Taub Hospital.

The gunman, described as a Hispanic man with a light complexion, got away on foot, detectives said.
